If you want
to make money online you’ll need to work hard, lose sleep and deal with
disappointment. In the beginning you’ll receive little reward for all your hard
work.
In the
beginning, you’ll feel inspired and optimistic but soon writing content,
building links and researching the market will leave you exhausted. The longer
you work at it, the more work you’ll realize how much work it is and soon
you’ll be overwhelmed. At this point (or
well before) most online entrepreneurs throw in the towel and move on to
another (easier) venture.
Too bad for
them, but great for you!
If you
stick with it, consistently creating fresh, original and relevant content and
building high quality links, you will make money online.
Your online
business is a residual reward venture.
Just like residual income, cash that flows in whether you’re working or
not, your site’s success is based on previous work. The more work you put into
it up front, the less work you’ll have to work later to make money. Or you can continue to work hard and make
loads of money for years to come (my personal favorite).
No matter
what type of product you sell (including your services) make sure you build in
residual income. If you’re a graphic
designer, don’t just sell a design and move on to the next customer. Sell a subscription so customers have access
to your designs or services. If you’re
an internet marketer, don’t just sell link placements: sell an e-book that
tells others how to place links. You
only have to write the book once, but the residual income will come in for
years to come.
There are a
few affiliate programs that offer residual income. Some membership sites will continue to pay
commissions for active members. There
are pyramid schemes that pay a percentage of referred sites’ revenue. You get
other online business owners to sign up and you receive a % of whatever they
sell. I’m not recommending these, I’m
just pointing out they exist. Like every
pyramid scheme, someone has to buy something so only affiliate yourself with
credible, quality merchants.
Once you’ve
identified a great opportunity to make money, especially money you don’t have
to keep working for, help your customers find you.
