Everything that is man-made has a design that was laid out and decided upon by the person that is paying for whatever is being built. This can be a home or a new phone or even the clothes that you are wearing. However the most fascinating thing that I think is designed is performing art sets. From experience I know how hard it is to create and built a set for a play.

When you have a script and you are suppose to come up with the setting all from your mind that is really hard. Sometimes the script has some direction as to what kind of things it will need but most of the time it gives you no direction. Then on top of creating the set you also have to make sure that you are going to be able to actually design it with things that you can actually get your hands on. This is because if your design is too hard to follow you will never get it finished. Also when designing a play’s set you also have to consider how the actors will relate to the set, meaning how they will move around the set. After this is done you just have to start building what you put down.
